I came to Providence Preschool (formerly Bow Creek Preschool) having earned my Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from Virginia State University, Masters of Science in Administration from University and Degree of Educational Specialist in Early Education and MAT certification from University. I have worked as a dedicated educator with over 10 years of experience in various roles within the field. Through my experience as a Preschool Teacher, Assistant Director and Director I have cultivated a strong dedication to early childhood education ensuring all children have a safe and inviting learning environment that meets their individual developmental needs.
My expertise in curriculum development, staff training, mentoring, and building strong relationships with families ensures that I will continue to create a supportive and nurturing environment for students and staff. I believe in providing high-quality, inclusive, and play-based learning experiences for all children, as well as fostering their curiosity and creativity. I continue to work tirelessly to create genuine connections with each and every family at Providence Preschool in order to establish a foundation of support, accomplishment and well-being of their children.
Our Mission
Providence Preschool strives to provide a safe and developmentally appropriate environment for preschool-age children. Our focus is to provide a stimulating hands-on educational experience that promotes each child's social, emotional, physical and cognitive development.
Writing
Children need strong fine motor skills for proper pencil grip and control. At Providence, we help foster fine motor development through fun and age-appropriate activities. They include painting, drawing, tracing, pencil and paper activities, including tracing lines and dot-to-dots, and independently writing their names, letters, and numbers.
Science
Children are natural scientists – always curious and eager to find answers. So our teachers provide children with various hands-on science experiments, including planting, cooking, and observing the metamorphosis of butterflies.
Mathematics
Our Pre-K children understand numbers and numerical operations, including counting and one-to-one correspondence, pattern recognition, shape recognition, and problem-solving through structured activities and unstructured play.
Reading & Language
Our Pre-K teachers foster a love of reading and language through many fun and engaging age-appropriate activities which includes storytime, finger-plays, sequencing cards, and authoring and acting out stories. In addition, alphabet activities allow children to review capital and lower case letters and their sounds, and the children build a solid foundation of sight words throughout the year.
Social Development
Our Pre-K children learn a variety of social and emotional skills. They learn to express individuality by making independent decisions, how to recognize and describe various feelings, such as happiness, sadness, and empathy. Our teachers foster positive interactions with other children and adults. These are complex skills. Our teachers know this, and they give our children lots of guidance, encouragement, and positive feedback.

How do I edit or remove the 'Frequently Asked Questions' title?You can edit the title from the FAQ 'Settings' tab in the Editor. To remove the title from your mobile app go to the 'Site & App' tab in your Owner's app and customize.
